About African Smiles

African Smiles is principly about promoting the work of Mercy Ships in Africa. Dr. Keith Thomson has been actively involved with Mercy Ships for a number of years, and has made numerous trips to Africa to help on board Mercy Ships floating hospitals and at their land bases.

So what is 'Mercy Ships'?

Taking words from their Web site...Mercy Ships exists as a compassionate response to a world in need. On ships and land bases, dedicated volunteers bring their wide-ranging skills to promote health and well-being by serving the urgent surgical needs of the forgotten poor and empowering developing communities.

How can you help?

There are numerous ways anyone can help us, the simplest being by helping to spread the word and directing people to this Web site to find out more about us. Our get involved section tells you more about some of the things you could do if you fancy being a volunteer. Or even visiting the Mercy Ship site, where you can find out how to make a financial donation.

Anything you think you can do that might help us, we'd love to hear from you, so please get in touch.
